I craft extraordinary, handcrafted sculptures that blend art and functionality, redefining home aesthetics and weaving narratives through material and form to evoke emotion and unleash the imagination.
Agnieszka Mazur focuses on materials as vehicles which enable and drive her design research. Mazur puts into question and investigates the meanings assigned to materials and the storytelling they are enveloped in: What can materials tell us about reality? While working, she often creates her own processes to explore meanings contained therein. The answers emerge from the materiality of the process.
Agnieszka often works with notions of the hidden, the discarded, the neglected and the obvious which through the closeness to our life act as barometers of our reality.
Mazur believes we need to challenge our perceptions, definitions, and common understanding to go beyond the understanding of reality we are used to.
Agnieszka Mazur is a material and design researcher currently based in between the Netherlands and Poland.
Studied Art History at Warsaw University and graduated in Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland. In 2017 she graduated in Contextual Design from Design Academy Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
She established her studio practice in 2019 under the name Studio Mazur.
