SeaLand Lamps

With SeaLand lamps, the designer and researcher Agnieszka Mazur is using natural shapes of shells as pieces of stained glass. By following the natural variety of shell shapes, she creates light domes. This results in sculptural, intricate forms that resemble oyster beds and the seaside.

Each lamp is linked to a specific location in Zeeland by using materials from the area or incorporating elements that represent the local landscape. The shades of colors and textures embody the seascape of the Netherlands and carry the memory of those places.
